We needed spaces for the straight track, so from the wood pieces provided by Ron, we tried to measure and cut 16mm spaces for the straight track. For the large wood piece, we are required to use the new table saw. We will continue to use the table saw to cut the large pieces for our spacers.
Today we had the ZOOM meeting with professor Furman, Mr. Ron and everyone in our class. During the class time, Dr. Furman mentioned that we can not have any hardware work done inside or outside the campus due to COVID-19. The plan for our project changed from fabricating the 11 Meter Track to study and research the environmental effect of our project. We still work and finish our 3D modeling, but unfortunately, we won't be able to fabricate what we are modeling. Our team is working towards the new goal that is set up for this project in this semester.
Today we had a meeting with Dr. Furman, Mr. Ron and Eric to discuss our plan to finish our project by Spring break. We provided a PowerPoint explaining our plan for our project. Our plan is to have everything done by Spring break, and after we will test the bogie on the track. After our meeting, we came up with ideas about the switching mechanisms. Neeraj and Nina will be working towards designing these switches. We will provide our switches mechanism design in our first presentation. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1vggwoSwu3oJf-_LUwbvHQu4hb8Q7XkkCZs_T6FXiFc8/edit?usp=sharing
