In today's session, we first started out by going to a seminar put on by Dr. Furman regarding cell phones, and how infatuated our society is with a cell phone. After learning interesting facts (such as there are more active call phones then people) we went too our respective sections. We met in our little team and broke off, one member was doing some cad drawings, while the other two were getting our presentation ready for next week. In addition, we derived a free body diagram on the prototype of our track design to then scale and have a design specification to design with.

Today, the team revised their design presentation and decided on creating a prototype of the upright in cardboard. Numerical design specifications, a link between the design and social impact was added to the presentation. Also, the amount of bullet points on the social impact was reduced. Mr. Furman helped with giving advice on the preliminary design on the upright. The final decision was that water jetting of the wooden boards will continue, and the cardboard upright will be created next class. Preliminary upright design

Entry #6 - (10/02/2019)

Since we had to meet with ASME at SJSU to water jet our parts last week, therefore, our team missed the presentation day. We had to present today (10/02/2019) and we were the only team presenting. All other teams were discussing their project with their team members and with Dr. Furman. Towards the middle of our class time we had our presentation, and then answered questions about our project. We had to talk with Dr. Furman to make sure that we have a clear understanding of our project. Based on our conversation we are going to work on our presentation slides to add the missing information.

Entry #5 - (09/25/2019)

Our team met at ENGR-188 room to work on water jetting our parts. We met with ASME student who taught us on how to use the computer system for water jetting. He showed us how to install our CAD drawing and water jet our part from the CAD drawing. Ron joined us towards the end of the class time. We were able to water jet 4 pieces of our 10m track from 2 solid rectangle cutout tile pieces.

Entry #4 - (09/18/2019)

At the beginning of the class time, our team gathered together to discuss the 10m track design. We talked to Jacques, and he explained his design. We discussed how we should improve the track design since he had some of the design done. Towards the end of the class time, Ron introduced us to a new member of our team. Carlos is a Mechatronic (ME-106) student who is going to help our team with electronic parts of the project. Johnathon, Neeraj, and Ninebra (Nina) are in charge of mechanical design and Carlos is in charge of mechatronics.
